During Tudor times, embroidery was an extremely fashionable art and elaborately embroidered clothes & furnishings were a sign of status and wealth.

Work of beautiful quality was produced by the aristocratic ladies and professional embroiderers.

Design motifs were inspired by herbals, garden flowers and architecture.

This kit features some of the more popular motifs of Tudor times  - the peapods (used to be called "peascods") and insects.

The cross stitch kit is embroidered front & back - the back continuing the blackwork theme with a pretty Tudor Heart as a central motif.

Kit contains the following

  • 14-count Zweigart Aida fabric
  • Needle
  • DMC Floss
  • Colour co-ordinated felt to stick needles in
  • Colour co-ordinated tassel
