Arelate Studio Inspired by Mary Queen of Scots Cat Cross Stitch Pattern

Regular price $9.99

Mary Queen of Scots produced many items of needlework whilst held captive by her cousin Elizabeth I.

The designs were cross stitched by Mary from natural history books.

As with many of her tapestries, a deeper political message lies beneath the simple scene of a cat and a mouse. The ginger cat is the red headed Elizabeth I of England, the mouse Mary, her captive plaything.

Patterns can be used for either cross stitch or needlepoint.

Use to make pillows, wall-hangings etc.

Stitch count: 140 x 140.
